Dear John,

  with the current version of smeagol it is not possible to apply a gate
voltage. To include a gate voltage on a basic level one could just add
an additional system-dependent potential to the electrostatic potential
in the appropriate siesta routines (one just needs to add a few lines to
the code). Another note: smeagol can only treat two-terminal devices,
i.e. two electrodes.
