Dear all,

There is a major project underway to rationalise and re-orient the TCHPC
data centre. This will give us improved environmental controls, including
a more fault-tolerant cooling infrastructure.

Unfortunately it will have to involve some downtime for the clusters in
order to achieve this goal.

The TCHPC clusters (lonsdale, parsons, kelvin) will be offline during the
following period:

- from 9am Friday 21st of November
- to 5pm Friday 5th of December

This extended downtime is required in order to perform the significant
physical tasks of moving racks and machines. It will include the following
stages: power off the nodes, uncable and inter-rack links, physically
un-rack lonsdale nodes, physically move the racks to their new location,
re-rack lonsdale nodes, and finally re-cable inter-rack links.

Please contact ops at tchpc.tcd.ie in the first instance if you have any
queries regarding this piece of work.

Kind regards,
Paddy
